Position Overview
The Marketing Manager oversees marketing content development and lead generation initiatives within an annual marketing plan including but not limited to collateral development, email/web initiatives, social media, advertising, public relations and conferences.
|
Primary Duties
- Marketing Planning– 15% of time

Identify tactics and recommend marketing mix for custom research and syndicated services that support company goals and result in sufficient qualified leads for sales ( including email, direct mail, conferences, PR and social media, etc)

Plan lead generation campaigns

Apply understanding of available media, approved product positioning, Health Strategies Group customer needs and hot buttons to develop/oversee the development of individual communication and campaign elements

Identify prospect actions and responses [to programs/tactics] that indicate interest in Health Strategies Group services and readiness for sales hand-off
- Coordinate with Marketing Operations Coordinator on the implementation and measurement of marketing tactics
- Assess and communicate marketing results
- Develop Content for Marketing Campaigns-- 55% of time
- Identify content needed to support marketing campaigns/tactics
- Evaluate syndicated research content for fit for use in marketing communications [in terms of alignment with customer needs and product positioning]

Work with vendors and Health Strategies Group syndicated/custom subject matter experts to develop executive briefs /white papers/presentations to support approved positioning/messages for conceptual products or services (where actual research content does not exist)
- Map content to target customer based on their profile (wants/needs) and where they are within buying cycle (sequence content)
- Package content in a way that drives interaction with Health Strategies Group (includes copy writing/edit/design/formatting/repurposing)
- Select the most effective mediums for communicating packaged content
- Write customer communications that use voice of customer, include a relevant hook, subject line and call to action
- Assess the impact of message/content to improve campaign/communication effectiveness
- Sales Collateral Development – 15% of time
- Oversee development of sales tools- ensure sales has required tools to move clients through the buying cycle and knows how to use them (includes emails for prospecting, promotional pieces, etc).
- Oversee development of annual update of materials needed for renewal of syndicated products including corporate brochure (portfolio piece), research agendas, capabilities PowerPoint decks (primers), and proposal templates
- Marketing Operations and Governance-10% of time
- Agency/vendor selection – Select and manage external agencies and ensure that department has a bench of appropriate partners to rely upon (vetted vendors)
- Monitor marketing expenditures
- Curate content marketing library – organize content so that it can be repurposed/reused
- Manage a planning calendar and ensure communication of status to sales and practice areas

Position Overview
We are currently recruiting a strong Senior Consultant with pharmaceutical marketing expertise to join our growing consulting practice. The individual selected will primarily lead consulting engagements. Senior Consultants work with client teams from leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to provide solutions to strategic issues and challenges related to pharmaceutical marketing and sales. Responsibilities include meeting with clients to identify business goals and/or questions, communicating reasons to retain Health Strategies Group, determining project objectives, writing proposals and developing and presenting recommendations.
This role will support practice business development. The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in building repeat and follow-on consulting and/or market research business within assigned bio-pharmaceutical client firms.

Primary Duties
- Leading Consulting Engagements and strategic market research projects - 25-35% of time
- Interview clients to determine needs and business objectives
- Work with client to solidify project goals and objectives
- Create strong hypotheses and recommend approaches for testing them
- Write winning proposals (i.e., selling points, determine appropriate approach, develop costs/budgets, resource needs and timelines)
- Direct development and oversee implementation of project work plans
- Serve as key client contact for project
- Custom Research Project analysis & client deliverables/presentations - 30-35% of time
- Utilize research findings, past experience and secondary information to develop final conclusions
- Apply final conclusions and pharma marketing knowledge to develop strategic insights and actionable recommendations that help clients achieve business objectives
- Write presentations and final deliverables based on conclusions and recommendations
- Lead final presentations at client meetings
- Business development & client management - 20-25% of time
- Develop consulting business among current Health Strategies Group clients
- Meet a specified annual project revenue goal
- Manage relationships with consulting clients and maintain records of business development activity using Health Strategies Group’s CRM system
- Manage client inquiries and questions appropriately
- Custom Practice development - 10-15% of time
- Identify project types that meet the needs of clients
- Develop repeatable project types that can be implemented and used in marketing campaigns
- Support Practice Leader in developing new resources to improve business development and internal project management
- Develop and manage associates - 15% of time
- Supervise/manage associates by providing clear expectations, direction and immediate performance feedback
- Provide training and development to associates on key customer segments and pharmaceutical clients
- Develop associates consulting skills through one-on-one coaching, mentoring/providing appropriate client opportunities to practice skills
- Share information and guidance to assist all associates and specifically Analysts and Associate Consultants develop to and beyond their current roles
